Share it:

Happy Wednesday, everyone, and welcome to your mid-week edition of “Where’s the Freight?,” Trucker Tools’ free freight forecast for truckers and carriers. The projections that you see in each and every edition of “Where’s the Freight?” are based on real-world data from Trucker Tools’ app and broker software platform. Through analysis of these transactions, we can predict with accuracy where demand for capacity will be high, low, increasing and decreasing over the next five to seven day period.

This week, you can expect demand for power only capacity to rise in several key manufacturing and distribution markets, including Springfield, Mass., and Salt Lake City, Utah. Speaking of power only, we have a new number one in our Top Five Hottest Markets list, which happens to be a power only market. Also of note in today’s forecast is that Texarkana, Texas, again appears twice in our top five list, while Southwestern Ontario will continue to be a high-demand market for flatbed in the coming week. You also can expect rising reefer demand this week for Spokane, Wash.

For more insights into where demand and rates are likely to be high and low over the next five to seven day period, scroll down to read this newest edition of Trucker Tools’ “Where’s the Freight?”

Where Demand for Capacity Will Be High or Rising

  • Southwestern Ontario and Texarkana, Texas, are likely to be the highest demand/highest rate flatbed markets in North America this week. Flatbed demand is expected to rise this week to/from Vancouver, British Columbia.
  • Reefer demand will be high in the coming week for Dodge City, Kan., and Texarkana, Texas. Look for reefer demand to increase this week to/from Spokane, Wash.
  • Knoxville, Tenn., will be the highest demand/highest rate power only market for truckers and carriers over the next five to seven days. Power only demand inbound to and outbound from Springfield, Mass., Salt Lake City, Utah, and Brooklyn, N.Y., is projected to rise this week.

Where Demand for Capacity Will Be Low or Falling

  • If you run flatbed, you may want to avoid loads to/from Brooklyn, N.Y., this week, as it is projected to be the lowest demand (and lowest rate) flatbed market in North America.
  • Once again, Hartford, Conn., will be the lowest demand/lowest rate reefer market in North America this week.
  • Demand for power only capacity inbound to and outbound from Fort Worth, Texas, and Stockton, Calif., will be extremely low over the next five to seven days. You also can expect power only demand to decrease this week to/from El Paso, Texas, and Fort Wayne, Ind.
  • Demand for dry van capacity will be extremely low this week to/from Winnipeg, Manitoba.
