Where’s the Freight? Texarkana, Jonesboro, Rapid City and Dodge City Top Freight Markets in Coming Week

In today’s forecast, the Texarkana, Texas, flatbed market once again clocks in at number one in our Top Five Hottest Markets list, projected to see the highest demand this week across the United States and Canada. The Texarkana, Texas, reefer market, ranked number two in today’s Top Five, is projected to see a significant increase in demand in the coming week, as well. If you run power only loads, you’ll want to prioritize loads to and from Jonesboro, Ark., this week, as demand is projected to be high. For those of you running dry van, you can expect extremely low demand and rates for Calgary, Alberta, over the next five to seven day period.

  • Flatbed demand and rates for Texarkana, Texas, Rapid City, S.D., and Dodge City, Kan., are projected to be high. Demand for flatbed capacity to/from Calgary, Alberta, and Montgomery, Ala., likely will rise.
  • Reefer demand and rates for Texarkana, Texas, are expected to be high. Demand for reefer capacity inbound to and outbound from Texarkana, Texas, is likely to increase.
  • Power only demand and rates for Jonesboro, Ark., will be elevated. Power only demand to/from New Castle, Del., and Mobile, Ala., is projected to rise.

Where Freight Demand/Rates Will Be Lowest or Falling This Week

  • Flatbed demand and rates for Fargo, N.D., and Brooklyn, N.Y., will be very low.
  • Reefer demand and rates for Montreal, Quebec, are expected to be extremely low.
  • Power only demand and rates for Huntington, W.Va., are likely to remain low. Power only demand to/from Los Angeles and Omaha, Neb., is projected to decline.
  • Dry van demand and rates for Calgary, Alberta, will be very low. Dry van demand for Ithaca, N.Y., is expected to decrease.
