What Rohit Does at Trucker Tools

“I function as both the chief financial officer and chief operating officer of Trucker Tools,” said Rohit. “What that means is under the umbrella of finance, I oversee all things accounting, tax compliance and revenue operations. On the operating front, I oversee both customer success as well as onboarding teams. These teams work on all things post sale – from providing a seamless onboarding experience to training and working with the customers to ensure they are successful with all the products they use. All inbound support requests also are handled by this team.”

B.T.T. (Before Trucker Tools)

“I’m an engineer by trade,” said Rohit. “I started my career as an engineer working across design, product, manufacturing and hardware teams. While I loved building products, I had an interest in learning how to scale a business, which is why I pivoted to a career in operations and joined the Strategy and Business Development team at Uber. While at Uber, I worked on market expansion and marketplace analytics. I also led a global business development team focusing on technology, data and infrastructure partnerships. After Uber, I went to the University of Chicago for my MBA to get an academic foundation in finance and then went on to work on Wall Street at JP Morgan, where I focused on mergers and acquisitions.”

Why Trucker Tools?

“I knew I wanted to work at the intersection of private equity and software. Within software, I was very interested in freight tech,” Rohit shared. “When I was hired by Alpine Investors and was looking at all of the companies Alpine had invested in, Trucker Tools stood out to me because it was a marketplace. Trucker Tools is about connecting brokers and carriers and I felt there was massive room to drive growth in terms of Trucker Tools’ position in the market. Transportation is the backbone of the economy, and Trucker Tools with its digital freight matching product is very well-positioned to power the digitization of this ecosystem.”

What Rohit Likes About Working at Trucker Tools

“We have a phenomenal team,” Rohit said. “It truly feels like a family and there’s no sharp elbows. Everyone looks out for each other and there is a massive focus on not just your professional health, but also your personal health and how you’re bringing your full self to work. It’s something Trucker Tools takes very seriously. I also love how growth-minded people are. Everyone has an owner mindset and is leaning into this next phase of growth, excited to build together. We truly are making a difference in terms of revolutionizing an industry by helping our brokers digitize and our owner operator carriers get the best loads. We have the right team in place to solve a problem and make a difference, which at the end of the day is very fulfilling.”

Rohit’s Life Outside of Work

“I am a new dad,” Rohit said. “My son is 18 months old and I’m enjoying this phase of fatherhood with my wife. Outside of work, spending time with them is what I enjoy the most. I love getting to go to Central Park with my wife and son. A new hobby I have developed is photography – I enjoy capturing candid moments of my son with his fleet of toy trucks. -Other than that, I enjoy playing tennis and squash whenever I can and trying new restaurants with my family.”

Rohit’s Bucket List

“I wish to attend all four tennis Grand Slams– I have only been to the U.S Open” said Rohit.  I am also very passionate about international policy and infrastructure development – I would love to continue to scale my involvement with non-profits in these areas.”
