What Laura Does at Trucker Tools

“I work directly with our customers and their drivers with any issues, whether it’s with the app or any of our portals,” Laura said. “I help the drivers who are having issues with getting the app downloaded or who are not sure how to start the tracking or how to work the app. I also help any customers who have questions with any of our products or if something isn’t working right, I help figure it out and solve it.”

Before Trucker Tools

“Before I came to Trucker Tools, I worked on the carrier side,” said Laura. “I did dispatching, customer service, billing and payroll, and a little bit of HR. I’m working in a different part of the trucking business now, but my previous carrier experience absolutely is helpful. I know their language and speak the trucking language, which makes them happy. I relate to them and know exactly what’s going on. They like that because a lot of people don’t understand what they do. My husband’s a truck driver, too, so I can understand a little bit.”

Laura on Trucker Tools’ Company Culture

“I like that everyone is there to help each other,” Laura shared. “It’s not just everyone for yourself. I’ve been used to just figuring out things on my own, but everyone at Trucker Tools is there to help you understand and help you work through things that may be difficult at first. I also do like how everyone is open and honest. If you have any questions or problems, they do actually take it seriously and try to fix it. If you have an idea, they actually take that into account.”

How Working at Trucker Tools Has Helped Laura Grow

“I’ve never been on the tech side before, so it’s been quite a learning curve,” Laura said. “You don’t realize the depth of an app until you actually work on one. At Trucker Tools, you’re able to see what everyone does and it’s not just behind closed doors. I never really wanted to be in the tech world, but now that I am and can see parts of the industry, it’s actually gotten me to want to learn and be more involved in the backend of the tech world. It’s good to learn more of the tech side and learn how things operate.”

What Laura Likes To Do Outside of Work

“My family and I, we love to go camping,” said Laura. “We just moved to Oklahoma, so I love being able to explore the area and getting to know more of the state. In general, I just love hanging out with my family and being able to spend time with them. I’m passionate about my family and making myself a better person. I’ve always wanted to have a family, so I want to make my family feel comfortable. I want them to be able to experience things that not a lot of people have and teach them to do things on their own instead of needing others for everything. I’m always working on myself and what I need to improve on. I want to be the best person and the best mother. I also love to read Christian fiction, but I haven’t been able to as much since I have a family now. I have a three-year-old boy who is almost done potty training.”

Laura’s Bucket List

“I don’t have a whole bunch on a bucket list just because throughout the years I’ve been able to do a lot of things on my list,” Laura shared. “I still have three states left to visit before I’ve gone to every state in the United States, those being Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama. Something that is brand new on my bucket list is that I’ve been wanting to start a side business. It’s something that I want to call my own. My husband and I have been tossing around the idea of creating a storage place for campers, boats and stuff like that.”
