Where’s the Freight? Winnipeg, Ft. Wayne, Southwestern Ontario, Tucson and Rapid City Will Be the Hottest Markets for Truckers/Carriers in the Next Week
Just when you thought spring was here, winter continues to hang around. Several snowstorms are expected to drop up to 36 inches of snowacross the Northwest, Rockies and Southwestern Canada this week. The good news is that the snowstorms forecast for this week for the most part will be confined to high elevations in these regions. These storms come as many freight markets are still struggling to recover from the winter storms that hit the South and Midwest during the month of February.
In today’s edition of Trucker Tools’ “Where’s
the Freight?” you’ll notice that two of our five hottest markets for
truckers are reefer markets, reflecting high demand for reefer capacity
across North America. The start of produce season in Southern Florida is
expected to further tighten reefer capacity in the coming weeks. Two of the
other markets projected to be among the best for truckers and carriers in the
next week are flatbed markets. High demand for large-scale farming and
construction equipment are, in part, driving this surge in demand for flatbed
capacity in 2021.
Keep reading to find out which specific
markets you should target and avoid over the next five to seven days to
maximize your revenue.
Where Demand for Trucks Will Be
High/Rising

Brooklyn, N.Y., and Edmonton, Alberta (Canada), are
projected to be the two coldest flatbed markets in North America in
the coming week.
Hartford, Conn., will be the coldest reefer market
in the country this week. Also, look for demand for reefer capacity to
decline in and out of Flagstaff, Ariz., this week.
Portland, Ore., will continue to be the coldest power
only market in the country over the next five to seven days.
Demand/rates for dry van will be low in the
coming week for Calgary, Alberta (Canada).
