Use Trucker Tools’ ELD Integration as Real-Time Visibility Alternative

Share it:

If you’re a broker or 3PL using Trucker Tools’ real-time visibility platform, you may encounter a small number of carriers who are unable to use the real-time visibility tool included in our free driver app. Some larger carriers, in particular, may have company policies in place that don’t allow brokers/3PLs to track loads via drivers’ phones. If this is the case, know that you have other options available.

Trucker Tools’ real-time visibility platform can be integrated with a trucker’s ELD if using our driver app’s load tracking isn’t possible. With an ELD integration, our real-time visibility platform pulls location data from the ELD device instead of using the trucker’s smart phone and Trucker Tools’ free driver app. It’s a seamless integration that keeps your carriers happy while giving you the real-time visibility that you need to keep your shippers satisfied.

ELD Integration with Trucker Tools’ Real-Time Visibility Platform

Within Trucker Tools’ real-time visibility platform, you’ll see a button titled “Set Up ELD Tracking.” Simply click on this button to request ELD-based load tracking. When you do so, an email is automatically sent to the Trucker Tools’ ELD integration team requesting ELD integration with our real-time visibility platform. Once you submit this request, Trucker Tools contacts the carrier to get their MC number and we take it from there. It’s as easy as that.

The Power of Trucker Tools’ Real-Time Visibility

You can view the real-time location of your shippers’ freight either in Trucker Tools’ real-time visibility platform or in your transportation management system — whether the location data is pulled from the carrier’s ELD or Trucker Tools’ driver app. When viewing truck locations in our real-time visibility platform, you can quickly and easily see on your computer screen the location of the loads you broker.

Trucker Tools’ real-time visibility platform makes it possible for you to see and address delays as they occur in real-time. Let’s say, for example, that you see that a truck appears to have suddenly stopped its progress and you don’t know why. You can contact the trucker or carrier dispatcher immediately to find out what has happened and make alternate arrangements, if need be. You also can let your shippers know in real-time if their freight will be arriving later than expected. Your ability to provide accurate, real-time ETAs to shippers thanks to Trucker Tools’ real-time visibility platform makes it easier for you to keep your current customers and expand your customer base.

Trucker Tools’ real-time visibility platform also reduces the number of phone calls you make to truckers and carrier dispatchers. With easy to understand, real-time visibility information literally at your fingertips, you don’t need to make five or six phone calls per load to track freight. Brokers and 3PLs who use our real-time visibility platform are able to reduce check call volume by as much as 30 percent or 40 percent. The value of decreasing the number of check calls you make is that it frees up brokerage staff members for other revenue-generating activities, such as shipper and carrier development.

17+ Other Free Tools and Features That Simplify Life for Carriers

There are 17+ other valuable tools and features included in Trucker Tools’ free driver app that help carriers increase efficiency, reduce manual tasks and save money. Even if carriers can’t use the real-time visibility tool included in the Trucker Tools driver app because of company policy, they still can take advantage of the time and money-saving tools and features in our free driver app.

With Trucker Tools’ free driver app, carriers can access real-time information on open loads, weigh scales, fuel prices, optimal routing, Wal-Mart locations, truck stops, rest areas, restaurants, showers, nearby hospitals and truck washes, repair shops and more. Our driver app even includes an axle weight calculator to help drivers balance their loads. Instead of flipping between eight or nine different individual apps during the day, carriers can use Trucker Tools’ comprehensive, all-in-one app on the road.
