Welcome to this Monday edition of Trucker Tools’ “Where’s the Freight?,” your place for finding out where demand for capacity will be highest and lowest over the next week. With this information, you can target loads that take you into markets where demand, rates and good-paying backhaul opportunities are likely to be high. In this final market report for the month of August, you’ll notice that we have a new number one in our Top Five Hottest Markets list. Also of note in today’s “Where’s the Freight?” is that four of the five markets where demand is projected to increase this week are power only markets. This week, the Yakima, Wash., flatbed market once again is projected to be the lowest demand/rate market in North America, while one region in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan is projected to see extremely low demand for dry van capacity.
