Welcome to your mid-week edition of “Where’s the Freight?,” Trucker Tools’ free freight forecast for truckers and carriers. In each and every edition of our free freight forecast, you’ll find out where demand and rates for flatbed, reefer, dry van and power only freight will be highest and lowest over the next week.

Once again this week, the Mobile, Ala., power only market is likely be the hottest freight market in the United States and Canada, which is why it’s ranked number one in today’s Top Five Hottest Markets list. Also of note in today’s freight forecast, demand and rates for reefer capacity to/from Texarkana, Texas, are projected to be extremely high this week. If you run flatbed, you’ll want to prioritize loads into Texarkana, Texas, in the coming week, as demand for flatbed capacity is projected to increase substantially. On the dry van side, Ottawa, Ontario is projected to see increasing demand, while Ithaca, N.Y., will be a cold market for dry van over the next five to seven days.

Where Demand/Rates Will Be Highest or Rising This Week

  • Flatbed demand and rates for Wheeling, W.Va., are projected to be high. Flatbed demand to/from Texarkana, Texas, is likely to increase.
  • Reefer demand and rates for Texarkana, Texas, Fayetteville, Ark., and Tucson, Ariz., are expected to be very high. Reefer demand to/from Grand Junction, Colo., and Winnipeg, Manitoba, is likely to rise.
