In this ongoing Broker Tip blog series, we’re providing freight brokers like you with insights into how to be more productive and effective in your day-to-day work. This newest blog in the series is dedicated to the powerful, time-saving Carrier Matches feature in our digital freight matching platform, Smart Capacity. Once you’re on the phone with a dispatcher or ready to send a load to a carrier via email, the Carrier Matches tool makes it easy for you to find and offer additional loads in a single communication or conversation. Ultimately, the Carrier Matches tool helps you be more efficient and productive by making it easy for you to communicate with carriers about multiple loads at once.
Step #1 — Select a Carrier
To begin, log into Smart Capacity and select a carrier either from your freight matching results list in Load List or via the Carrier Search tab.
Step #2 — Select See Carrier Matches
Once you’ve pulled up a carrier in Smart Capacity, to access the Carrier Matches tool click on SEE CARRIER MATCHES at the bottom of the map that displays the route of the load you’re working on. Carrier Matches lets you quickly see all of the trucks that the carrier currently has available.
Step #3 — Click on Trucks To Find Matching Shipments
After you click on Carrier Matches, the trucks that the carrier has available are displayed in a list view on the left-hand side of your screen and a map view on the right-hand side of Smart Capacity. Click on a truck to see what shipments your brokerage has available to match up with the carrier’s available truck(s).
Step #4 — View Matches
In this example, Smart Capacity is telling us that there are four loads available that match the carrier’s truck availability in Georgia. With this information at your fingertips, you have the opportunity to efficiently follow-up with this carrier on all of their available trucks and provide multiple options to book as many trucks with the carrier as possible at once.
