Where’s the Freight? Texarkana, Macon, Tucson, New Castle and Decatur Projected To Be Most Profitable Markets for Fleets and Drivers This Week

Share it:

Happy Friday, truckers and carriers! Looking ahead to the coming week, you can expect reefer demand to be strong in several markets, including Tucson, Ariz., Decatur, Ala., and Texarkana, Texas. As the weather turns cooler in many states and provinces, flatbed demand continues to soften, with the Brooklyn, N.Y., flatbed market projected to be the least profitable market in the United States and Canada over the next five to seven day period. If you run dry van, you’ll want to prioritize loads inbound to and outbound from Macon, Ga., in the coming week, as demand for van capacity is likely to be high. On the power only side, New Castle, Del., will remain a strong market this week, while Stockton, Calif., will see extremely low demand/rates for power only loads.

Where Demand/Rates Will Be Highest or Rising This Week

  • Flatbed demand and rates for Huntington, W.Va., are likely to increase.
  • Reefer demand and rates for Texarkana, Texas, Tucson, Ariz., and Decatur, Ala., are projected to be extremely high. Reefer demand to/from Texarkana, Texas, is expected to rise.
  • Power only demand and rates for New Castle, Del., will be high. Demand for power only capacity for San Diego, Austin, Texas, and Fort Wayne, Ind., is projected to increase.
  • Dry van demand and rates for Macon, Ga., will remain elevated.

Where Freight Demand/Rates Will Be Lowest or Falling This Week

  • Flatbed demand and rates for Brooklyn, N.Y., and Fargo, N.D., are expected to be extremely low. Flatbed demand to/from South Bend, Ind., is projected to decline.
  • Reefer demand and rates for Billings, Mont., will remain very low.
  • Power only demand and rates for Stockton, Calif., are expected to be very low. Demand for power only capacity to/from St. Cloud, Minn., is likely to decrease.
  • Dry van demand and rates for Calgary, Alberta, will continue to be low.
